ONSCREEN TEXT: Petmate’s story
Instrumental music plays throughout. Three white lines sweep over a blue screen to reveal a sunlit building in a business park. A sign above the front entrance reads, “Petmate.” A stuffed dog sits on a shelf beside a blue Petmate hardhat. A tan Staffordshire Bull Terrier barks and wags it’s tail from behind a doggy gate in a conference room. Three women sit around a coffee table in the lobby. A black lab-cross sits beside one woman. Behind them, a mural of dogs and cats is painted on a light blue wall. The UnitedHealthcare logo appears in the bottom right corner and remains throughout. A woman, Kari Humphrey, speaks as the woman hugs the lab cross and someone scratches behind the ear of a scruffy grey Yorkie mix.
KARI: We want people who love pets. We want people who are creative, who come up with new ideas, and are excited about what we do.
The blue u-shaped UnitedHealthcare logo appears against a white background.
Kari interviews in the Petmate office. A blue box slides into the bottom left of the screen containing white text.

Kari walks down an aisle in the warehouse admiring a range of Petmate products. A machine manufactures litter pans, then an employee uses a blow torch on one.
KARI: We produce anything and everything your dog or cat would need, from kennels to beds to watering and feeding systems, litter pans… And we do manufacture here in Texas as well.
Someone loads a stack of litter pans into a cardboard box. Kari walks through the warehouse with two employees. Kari works in her office. A message written in dry-erase marker on the glass outside her office reads, “Hi Kari,” surrounded by a heart.
KARI: Our role as leaders is to provide benefits and a total compensation package that people are going to come to work and want to work here and want to be here. So, we really tried to simplify it for our employees. Still provide what we were providing but choose one provider to do that for us. Kind of a one stop shop for our employees.
Animated images appear within circles connected by lines on a white background, including a doctor with a stethoscope, a prescription pill bottle, a heart, the letter “H,” and the “+” symbol. Blue text runs beneath the graphic.

An orange checkmark appears beside each line of text. Kari interviews.
KARI: There is always that tension of, you know, providing great benefits, but what is it costing the business? And I think that by being on the plans that we’re on today, we’re doing both.
A blue bar containing white text appears beside Kari.

employer costs
by up to 15%¹
Kari speaks in voice over as video shows her chatting with colleagues. First, with three employees who lean casually around a cabinet in a cubicle, then over the cubicle wall with another employee.
KARI: I would recommend a health plan here in Texas to any employer for two reasons. One, from an employee side, it is easy for them to use, it provides them choices, it provides them lower cost options, high value.
Two blue circles center a white screen containing animated graphics: a sun with a smiley face, and a piggy bank with a coin.
KARI: From an HR side, UnitedHealthcare is easy to work with. They have streamlined their processes. They have data. They have everything you need to help navigate that and they’re not afraid to sit down with you and talk through, “what do we gotta tweak?,” “what do we gotta change?,” “what do we gotta be lookin’ at?”
Kari and two colleagues pet the black lab mix in the Petmate lobby. Then, blue text centers a white background.
