Care Cash helps members save on care
When employees receive financial support for health care expenses through Care Cash, they may be able to save money, stay healthier and take ownership of their health.
Care Cash® is a preloaded debit card designed to help members pay toward cost sharing for program eligible network health care expenses. When meeting with clients to discuss this benefit, be sure to access the Post Enrollment Onboarding presentation. Care Cash aims to help reduce total cost of care and may help provide members with a simpler health care experience. More than 70% of members use their Care Cash card for care with a Premium Care physician, which may lower their total cost by 7% for primary care1 and by as much as 8.2% for care with any of 16 Premium specialties evaluated in the UnitedHealth Premium® program. Learn about one member’s experience by watching this video, which can also be shared with clients.
Members receive $200 for the year for individual coverage or $500 for family coverage. The Care Cash card can be used to help pay toward copays or other cost sharing for certain eligible network services, including:
- UnitedHealth Premium providers visits
- Primary care physician visits
- Urgent care visits
- 24/7 virtual visits
- Outpatient behavioral health visits
- Outpatient labs
Promoting program awareness is important because eligible members must navigate to myuhc.com/carecash to request their Care Cash card. Once the card arrives in the mail, members can use it to help pay toward certain eligible network health care expenses like copays and deductibles.
