Information for Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) and Postal Service Health Benefits (PSHB) programs
Effective Plan Year 2026, the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) and Postal Service Health Benefits (PSHB) Programs will no longer cover medical interventions for the chemical and surgical modification of an individual's sex traits, including services commonly referred to as “gender transition” services, except on an exception basis. As such, any recognition of a provider’s ability to perform these services as part of their area of expertise is listed solely for those enrollees who have been granted such an exception. These listings are not intended to indicate coverage for these services which are otherwise excluded under FEHB and PSHB benefits beginning in Plan Year 2026. Members should refer to their plan brochure for specific coverage details.
