The white line wiggle on the screen to for U. The video cuts to Matt Vesledahl interviewing in a chair in an office. White text appears over a blue banner in the lower left of the screen. Music plays throughout.
ON SCREEN TEXT: Matt Vesledahl
Chief Affordability Officer
UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual
MATT: I'm Matt Vesledahl, the Chief Affordability Officer of UnitedHealthcare's Commercial Insurance Division. Employers are in a very difficult position.
A video montage shows various people working in an office setting. It then returns to Matt interviewing.
MATT: Healthcare costs continue to rise at a rate faster than just about anything else in their budget. They lean on us and they look to us for answers. One of the answers we can offer in an integrated model is cost savings.
The videos cuts to a blue screen with two circles. One circle has an icon of a pill and the other a stethoscope. It then cuts to video montage of parents and their children, a medical personnel listening to a child’s heartbeat with a stethoscope, and other medical and pharmacy shots. Matt continues speaking.
MATT: Integrating pharmacy and medical together means managing your spend, your costs of all the healthcare across both benefits simultaneously. When a member gets sick, the illness doesn't care about your benefits or how you're structured. An integrated benefit offering that combines your medical, your pharmacy, offers a unique opportunity for us to care for a member maybe more holistically than otherwise might happen in a fragmented care delivery model.
The video cuts to an animation of a drug pill and a few pills next to the bottle. Then splits to a split screen of two pill bottles. It then cuts back to Matt interviewing.
MATT: We cover drugs today and those drugs are under both benefits. Sometimes it's the exact same drug covered under your medical and your Rx benefit. In an integrated model, we are chugging through all of your medical claims, all of your pharmacy claims with all of that data flowing through the same infrastructure.
An animation shows someone working at a computer. It then morphs into a timeline. It then dissolves to a white screen with blue text. Matt continues speaking.
ON SCREEN TEXT: That’s what we do
MATT: We can be better advocates on behalf of the member and that's what we do.
The video now shows a blue pole and flags on either side of the pole. Each flag has an icon in it. A stethoscope, a pill and an RX icon. It then returns to Matt interviewing. Matt continues speaking.
MATT: We look at when you should seek care through a medical benefit and when you should be seeking care through your Rx benefit. And that's this idea of cross-benefit management between your medical and your Rx benefit.
The video cuts to an animation of a booklet that has blue text on it. It then dissolves to white text on a blue background.

ON SCREEN TEXT: More seamless and integrated
The video dissolve to an animation of three circles on the screen. Two smaller ones on the out side and a larger one in the middle. The middle circle has a large prescription bottle. The left circle has a small pill bottle and the right circle has a clipboard with a pen and a RX at the top. The screen then exposes 4 more smaller circles with icons of a medical plus symbol, a doctor, a heart, and a stethoscope. The large pill bottle then moves into an animated scene of clouds. It then returns to Matt interviewing.
MATT: Embedded into our mission is this concept of making the healthcare system work better for everyone and making it more seamless and integrated. Our ability to do that here in this particular environment on pharmacy is something that we take great pride in. It affects us all. We're all consumers of the pharmacy world in one way or another. It's critical that we keep that healthcare as affordable as possible, which allows everyone to get the care that they need.
The video cuts to blue text on a white screen. The music fades.
