As members are pushing their employers to offer more and more things to them, it could be ancillary benefits, it could be things to bolt onto their health plan, that becomes very important for our employers and their recruitment and their retention of their employees. And we want to embrace that as well. So we have worked very hard to figure out how to incorporate their unique solutions into our environment as well.

CHUCK CERNIGLIA: Healthcare costs is like second to payroll in many situations and obviously that's a major burden on any employer.

And I think when people look at what they take out of their paycheck to pay for health insurance, that's a burden that we need to, it's almost our duty to make sure we reduce that cost.

JESSICA PAIK: As employers look at their bottom line and affordability, that matters to us too. And we work each and every day to deliver a trend that's going to meet their bottom line needs.
[Text On Screen – (approximately) 10% lower total cost of care than industry average according to third-party studies, Wakely Consulting Group. By looking at risk-adjusted allowed claims per month (PMPM) in 2021, Wakely was able to perform a holistic comparison of UnitedHealthcare’s ability to drive cost savings for members and determined it outperformed the market by approximately 10% - even though UnitedHealthcare is not the leader in discounts in many of these markets. Site of care redirection, inpatient management and preventative care utilization are key savings drivers.]

JUNIOR HAREWOOD: Building healthier communities is, frankly, the best part of my job. You can have folks who don't have any insurance, who may be government assistant type of programs and on commercial plans, and all of that is in one zip code and can present some challenges to the health system. So if we're not addressing the needs that are happening within a community, we're really just really focusing on short term solutioning.
