Learn about our third-party administrator

A third-party administrator (TPA) is an organization that handles the claims, processing and reporting parts of a self-funded health benefits plan. If you’re a trust fund considering or currently using a self-funded health plan program, you’ll typically use the services of a TPA.

UMR is UnitedHealthcare’s TPA. As a UnitedHealthcare company and the nation’s largest TPA, UMR focuses on building relationships, offering support and delivering solutions that put your goals first. We can work collaboratively with your current TPA or offer standalone TPA services.
