What types of mental and behavioral health programs may be covered?
Coverage depends on your specific health plan.
Mental health services, like therapy or counseling, can help on their own or as part of a larger care plan.1 Behavioral health programs, such as coaching, can also be used on their own or with other types of care. Behavioral health can also describe programs and support that help prevent distress and treat mental health conditions.2
You may also have access to additional tools, such as mindfulness programs, stress management and other self-guided resources through the Calm Health app.

Virtual mental health visits
If you don’t want to see a counselor in person, ask local providers if they offer virtual mental health visits. With virtual visits, or teletherapy, you can talk to your provider by phone or video. Getting care from home may feel easier and may fit better into your schedule.
